Boogie Boarding

I'm still on holidays!! I' thought I would do a quick update on one of my goals for 2012 for Me and You Monday; to spend more time with the children in my life.

This Wonderful weekend we spent a lovely few days at the beach! There is something about being at the beach where the kids are just simply happy just to be alive! I have to admit that it bring out the kid in me too! I've been having a great deal of fun teaching the kids how to catch waves on their boogie boards. It's such an exhilarating feeling to be catapulted along by the waves.

I am very protective of the kids out in the surf. I don't let them get too far away from me. Of course the irony is that it would be my 8 year-old daughter flash, saving me if we were ever caught in a rip!

After our day at the beach, my little niece had a sleep over with my girls. As I sung her to sleep, she peered at me through her heavy eye-lids and whispered

'......I love you Auntie Nicole...."

You could have picked up the pieces of my heart.....sometimes it's the small things that are the most meaningful and I hope I have made an impression in her heart the way that she has in mine!

Next week I will be back at home, back to reality, and I’m am planning to write a post outlining some more of my goals. Goals for my family, me and my blog...so stay tuned!

I'm linking this post with The Mother Experiment for me and you Monday. Come and see the goals of the other participants and see how they are progressing.

  5. I am officially jealous! I wish we could do that with our kids, but the stingers in the water up here make it completely impossible. You can't even go to the beach, because it's too hot, and there are so many jelly fish, I can't risk the kids even wading in rock pools.

Looks like you are having a fabulous time! :)

    1. Hi Jess Thanks for the comment! I bet there are heaps of other cool stuff you get to do with your kids....usually it's to cold in Canberra to do much of anything!

  6. Ahh you've got to love boogie boarding. We recently rediscovered Bribie Island after many years of only going to the Gold and Sunshine Coast for beaches for some reason. Although just typing that has made me realise how spoilt we are. Anyway, I look forward to reading about your new goals. :)
